An album cover design including the album lyrics insert. Some additional collateral such as the gig poster for the album launch. I used a bright and bold colour palette and strong shapes to reflect the style of music.
Vanguard magazine was created and designed by me. Here you will see the contents page, two double page spreads of a feature article and two front covers including the masthead design. The geometric shapes and blocks paired with the colour palette gives it the bold but playful aesthetic that the arts and entertainment magazine represents.
I created the brand of beer Two Swallows, designed the logo and the packaging. The name came from a cheeky play on words - the swallow bird symbolism has been known to represent the powerful healing medicine of happiness, and perhaps the beer is so good you can finish it in two swallows. I used contrasting fonts to convey a grungy vintage, yet contemporary feel. The colour palette felt appropriate to represent a light, low carb beer that might playfully appeal to people in an original way.
Website design for Belvoir St Theatre, shown on various screens/devices. A simple design and navigation to allow the user to easily explore the various productions. The colour palette was inspired by some of the production stills and gives it an engaging, playful feel.
A CSIRO booklet report on fracking. I chose a black and white colour scheme with pops of green. The design consists of fragmented images and angled blocks, to reflect the nature of the content. There are two additional front cover designs to complete a set of booklets on various environmental issues.
Brochure design for The Australian Ballet, Body Torque. The whole brochure is created in duotone, and the diagonal shapes and symmetry that run through the design imitate the angles and movement of the dancers. The overall design is balanced, symmetrical and graceful, to reflect the feeling of dance.
I designed the logo and created a set of pasta packaging using warm colours and patterns to inspire the feeling of comfort and food. The use of contrasting fonts and hierarchy creates balance, producing an appealing contemporary set.
I wanted to give the bar and live music venue, Waywards, a re-brand with more of a defined image. The colour scheme being quite dark, with deep reds and browns and black, with warm golden lighting, creating an intimate environment. A bit of a burlesque style, or perhaps an old speakeasy bar or jazz club, but still with a contemporary feel.
My logo design is quite simple, with a nice flowing movement to it, that represents the style as well as the idea of music and cocktails. I incorporated the small icon designs of a music note and a cocktail glass to emphasise this. The alternative version of the logo is a decorative W accompanied by the icons.
I also played around with additional elements such as materials and patterns that you would find inside the bar, such as leopard print and red quilted leather, which are incorporated in the overall design.
Print ads for an exhibition at Carriageworks. I used my own original photography, trying to showcase the originality and history of the venue itself.
Website design for Sydney Dance Company, shown on various screens/devices. I wanted to keep the design clean and classy, minimal but elegant. I kept the colour scheme a basic black and white, to allow the production images to tell the story. A simple navigation for a user friendly experience.
Feature article spreads for a teen music magazine. I kept the layouts simple and used bright bold colours that matched the images, and really pop against the black backgrounds.
A campaign for gender equality in the film industry. I designed a typography focused brochure, highlighting statistics and facts stating the issue. I also created a poster and t-shirt design as part of the campaign. I used simple black and white imagery, that instantly represents the film industry and added a bold pink.
